Wooden Pyramid Mabkhara Incense Burner, Small

Carved from brown wood in a small pyramid shape, this traditional mabkhara has cut out patterns on its sides that let the smoke rise through them as the incense burns. The design gives the classic look of a household mabkhara on a majlis or entrance table, and the brown wood keeps a warm, natural look. This is the small size, about 7.5 x 7.5 x 12.7 cm.

It is used in the classic way, with charcoal for bakhoor, oud chips, loban or other incense. The pierced sides let the fragrant smoke drift out into the room, and at about 140 g it is light enough to lift and pass from guest to guest, in keeping with the custom of serving bakhoor. The small size does not include the storage drawer found on larger sizes.

Its size suits a majlis side table, an entrance console or a shelf, and it adds a traditional touch for occasions and everyday gatherings alike. With no drawer, charcoal and bakhoor are kept separately. Use on a heat resistant surface and never leave burning incense unattended. Let the charcoal burn out completely and the burner cool before emptying or moving it, and dust the carved surface with a soft, dry brush or cloth.
